Quoted from the Adelaide Tweet Blog:
A good time was had by all at #CommsAdelaide yesterday evening at the @HotelTivoli. There was lots of chatter about the positive impact that social media is having in #Adelaide, productive sharing of ideas and, of course, plenty of laughs! Can’t wait for next tweetup in 2010! Well done @PPRAdelaide!
Great to see another Tweetup being organised in Adelaide! You too can create one with any focus and we will help you spread the word and get attendees – we can even help you find a venue.
Stay tuned for news on the upcoming Adelaide Geek Dinners to be held at various locations around Adelaide starting in January! The event is a dinner held every few months for “geeks” – that is, if you love technology, gadgets, social media, the internet, photography, gaming, anything you think defines you as a geek. Come along for an intelligent chat over a nice mid-week dinner. Bookings will be required for these events so keep listening out for more information. The first one should be in mid-late January so you have plenty of time to recover from 2009!
Cupcake Camp Adelaide is just over a week away now and our bakers are busy getting together their ingredients to start the marathon next week! If you haven’t heard about it, Cupcake Camp Adelaide is an afternoon of eating cupcakes to raise money for charity. Volunteers bake cupcakes to sell at the event – you can bake too, or just go along to enjoy them! They still need more people to bring along cupcakes and also some other supplies donated, and if you can help please let them know at their website.
Preparations for BarCamp Adelaide 2010 are now underway and with thanks to CodeFire, they have a venue from the beginning! If you’re interested in programming, new technology, future trends, the internet, social networking, gaming, and anything techy, you should take a look at BarCamp Adelaide. The last one in February 2009 had over 30 attendees for a day of fun networking and exciting conversation – and cupcakes for dessert!
Finally ATUB November is coming up on Friday November 27 – and we’d love your thoughts on a venue! Please try to keep it in the CBD for this one as it is most likely going to be the last official one from the year! It runs from 6pm until whenever the last person leaves. The last ATUB we had at Pancake Kitchen in September had over 25 people attend! Leave a comment with your ideas and thoughts and hopefully we’ll see all you tweeters there!
